Wild Snorlax

I mean, a wild Snorlax didn't appear, just a large compilation of my favorite pictures (and ones I want to share with you). Starting with Snorlax.

Also, a shout out to the Chivers, you'll notice I'm trying to bring theCHIVE everywhere I go. KCCO.

  1. What exciting and lovely pictures! You look like you are having a great adventure! I noticed several cathedrals in your pictures, and was wondering if you have seen the Judeo-Christian traditions as a Moral Foundation of leadership in your time in Argentina? Does it permeate into secular culture in a way different than America? Have a great trip and a safe flight home!

    1. Hi Amber -
Thanks, I'm trying to capture the best and the ordinary. The country identifies itself as a Catholic country, so yeah it's pretty prominent. Unfortunately, the stereotypical Catholic guilt doesn't seem to paralyze the bureaucrats from corruption or the people from crime. Whenever there are politics on TV, heads are shaken by my hosts because of the lies, deception and corruption. Not everyone feels that way - you'll see the folks on TV clapping wildly as the president speaks. My family is Catholic but none of them really practice and I wouldn't say it's a part of their political thought. So my conclusion is that it's definitely just as secular and any ethics are covered up by money. Unfortunately I wish I could say there is a moral foundation here, but it looks pretty much like a pile of rubble with a façade of beauty; my is this country stunning. Inside though.. not so pretty.

      Thanks for writing! Take care,
      Angela
